Five questions for the workflow owner

Use this 20-minute guide to test the causal pathway. Record de-identified notes in the value pathway map.

1. Which workflow outcome matters, for whom, and what is the current baseline?
   Probe for cycle time, quality, risk, service or growth—not general busyness.
2. Where is the real constraint?
   Ask whether improving the proposed task would move the end-to-end outcome or simply shift work to review, approval or another team.
3. What else must change?
   Name revised roles, process, approved data, quality rules, training, service levels or incentives.
4. How would released capacity or improved quality become value?
   Name the redeployment or financial action and the person with authority to make it happen.
5. What evidence would make us scale, revise or stop?
   Agree adoption, quality, operational outcome and material-risk thresholds before the experiment.
