Applied capstone: use a live or realistic organisational decision. Submit one PDF containing the decision memo and supporting analysis, plus the editable five-slide briefing.

Required components

  7. Define the decision, accountable owner and decision date.
  8. Separate support, assumptions and unresolved questions.
  9. Specify material risks, controls, human review and escalation.
  10. Provide a 30/60/90-day action sequence with measurable support gates.
  11. Include a one-page executive decision memo and five-slide briefing.

Three-stage working process

Stage 1 — Challenge and support: define the material problem, baseline, affected stakeholders and hypotheses. Stage 2 — Options and controls: compare alternatives, economics, dependencies, risk and governance. Stage 3 — Decision and action: submit the memo, briefing and accountable implementation sequence.

The intended outcome is: Explain AI credibly and select one safe support-building experiment

Use the Applied Leadership Toolkit in the final section. The pass mark is 80%, and a passing submission must reach at least Competent on every criterion.
